Runway New York

STYLELOUNGE presents LORIS DIRAN Couture

STYLELOUNGE will be presenting the LORIS DIRAN COUTURE Collection for Spring/Summer 2007 on Sunday, September 10th 2006 at the beautiful METROPOLITAN PAVILION at 110 West 19th Street for September's upcoming NEW YORK FASHION WEEK.

This show, produced by Live Style Entertainment, will mark Mr. Diran's first full New York runway presentation and the first presentation in which he will bring together both his men's and women's collections simultaneously. The show will be styled by celebrity stylist and former "AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL" co-star/judge, NOLE MARIN.

Says Diran, "I was very influenced by the images of Twiggy and Jean Shrimpton photographed by the Upstart Photographers of Sixties London...David Hemmings and the super model Verushka rolling in orgasmic ecstasy during a photo shoot in the 1966 film, 'Blow Up'...And, of course, the image of the so young and rakish Mick Jagger in a super slim suit before he discovered Glam rock. My collection is not so much an ode to this bygone era as it is a vision of where this esthetic finds it's relevance in today's return to structure."

Always true to his dedication to bespoke quality and couture finish, Loris Diran's Women's collection will follow suit in attention to detail and silhouette. In keeping with this idea, both collections are produced by the finest ateliers in the USA specializing in hand tailored product.

"This collection is all about one of the most architectural periods in modern fashion history and how that sense of linear translates to today's emphasis on hand finish and 'Demi-couture' detail; How to take a very structured silhouette and relax it in both form and fabrication".

Mr. Diran will present a collection of new designs cut from a series of vintage couture fabrics. Due to the limited nature of the materials, these exclusive pieces will be sold as a limited edition series and not available in these fabrics once they are finished.

Loris Diran is of French-Armenian descent and immigrated to America at an early age where his family settled on New York's upper west side. Highly influenced by the glam culture of the 1970's, he was drawn to music, theatre and fashion and attended New York's High School of performing Arts, performed on Broadway and appeared on Capital records as a recording artist.

After earning a Fine Arts degree from NYU, Diran went on to work for such legendary design houses such as Versace, Claude Montana, and Chanel. It was at these institutions Diran learned the key elements of style and embraced luxury as a lifestyle concept.

In 2003, Diran launched a collection of luxury knits under his first woman's label, LORIS DIRAN COUTURE. The craftsmanship and fashion forward designs made them an instant hit with many socialites and celebrities.
He also served as Design Director for the West Coast based Women's collection, JACQUELYNE LOVE, and presented two collections in this capacity at MERCEDES BENZ Fashion Week Los Angeles in 2004 and 2005.

In 2005, Mr. Diran went to work on his own signature men's line which has already developed a loyal clientele of fashion minded gentlemen as well as celebrities from the world of music, television and film.

Since then, LORIS DIRAN COUTURE has been seen in countless editorials, red carpet appearances, and mostly recently, the film "The Devil wears Prada"
