Street Smart Style at DKNY - By: Katie Parfet, Style Editor

Donna Karan is tuned into the New York youth culture. Drawing influences from the sidewalks outside some of the city's tonier prep schools to the pavement of the downtown skate parks, she presented "Innocent Sophistication" with ease. Donna dressed her women in school girl pleated skirts and cassie wool cardigans. Colors were darker with flirty flashes of plum and turquoise. High-waisted shorts looked both practical and sexy for brunch hour. Paired with a tailored velour jacket or a feminine black tissue silk beaded top showed versatile street ready options. For night, Donna pumped up color and volume for airy silk dresses. Her men looked as sharp on the runway as they do gallivanting around Soho. Everything was over sized and layered over either a skinny velour pant or basic jean. Scarves were slung over cozy wool peacoats for a spontaneous feel. Both the schoolgirls and boys looked Gotham hip in DKNY's mix and match it all for Fall!
