You Gotta Have Heart - By: Katie Parfet, Style Editor Did you know that each year more women die from heart disease than any other cause? That's why the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute teamed up with America's top designers to dress music's major female artists in one-of-a-kind dresses to raise awareness. Clearly the Red Dress Campaign is serious. However, Friday's show was anything but, complete with giddy celebs both on and off the runway. Lindsay Lohan strutted effortlessly down the catwalk in a body-hugging Calvin Klein number. It fit so well on her slender frame you'd swear modeling was old hat. Fellow young Hollywood "it kids" L.C. and Jason from MTV's Laguna Beach had the best seats in the house. Slightly older stars Nelly Furtado in Betsey Johnson and Kelly Rowland in House of Dereon hammed it up for the front row with plenty of twirls and air kisses. Blondie front woman Deborah Harry dazzled in Donna Karan, earning wild applause from the immaculately polished Angie Harmon. Supermodel Natalia Vodianova sat next to Ms. Harmon but saved her crazy clapping for Sheryl Crow (and her floor sweeping Ralph Lauren gown). Patti Hansen grooved to her own husband's (Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones) tune as daughters Alexandra and Theodora whistled for mom outfitted by Oscar de la Renta. Christina Milian rocked it for Max Azria Atelier and Fergie sizzled in a plunging Daniel Swarovoski creation, but Elaine Stritch (at over thirty years their senior) stole the show. The Broadway legend was all smiles as she belted out a darling rendition of "You Gotta Have Heart." Since the show, special Heart Truth pins have been popping up on everyone from ubermodels and upper east side socialites to downtown publicists and savvy editors alike. Here's to a trend worth following!
