Marc's Metropolis - By: Katie Parfet, Style Editor Jacob's grunge appeared on the fashion scene in '92, with an excess of Nirvana flannel and shampoo skipped hair. This season brought a new spin, with blown-up toboggan hats over weathered manes and a large array of texture from steel-grey leather to chestnut fox fur (all inspired by Jacob's conceptual "fractured metropolis"). The large scale post-industrial set echoed film noir movie set feel with a multi-ramp platform runway. Almost all the outfits were layered over legwarmers, combining heavy and delicate materials. Despite the intense layering, shape was not completely ignored with the waist wrapped skirt and high neck blouse. Gold and black sequins made otherwise drab hues pop, combining comfort and anti-couture for Marc Jacob's cosmopolitan woman.
