Model Barbara Palvin has recently taken on the endeavor of being the front woman for a new ad campaign. Hungarian model Barbara Palvin is joining fellow model Natalia Vodianova in modeling for the new Calvin Klein fragrance called Forbidden Euphoria, which is aimed at women from age 17 to 20. The fragrance is a take on an already existing one called Euphoria. It is described as, “opening on notes of sparkling mandarin, peach blossoms, icy raspberry leading to a heart of pink peony, tiger orchid and jasmine. Deep notes are cashmere wood, patchouli, musk.”

Barbara Palvin however is adding another notch, in her already very impressive modeling belt. The hungarian beauty was first discovered at the young age of 13 back in 2006, in Budapest. Barbara Palvin shot her first photo editorial for Spur Magazine, and since then she has been featured on the covers of L’Officiel, Vogue Russia, Glamour Hungary and Jalouse Magazine. Palvin first walked the runway for Prada at Milan Fashion Week 2010, and since then has also walked for Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Nina Ricci, Emanuel Ungaro, Christopher Kane, Julien MacDonald, Jeremy Scott, Vivienne Westwood, Etro, and opened a show for Chanel.

Fashion Designer Michael Kors Taking His Company Public

Fashion designer Michael Kors, who was one of the founding judges on the hit show Project Runway, is trying to raise $500 million via a sale of a stake in his company to raise money for global expansion plans. In an ongoing trend of Fashion Designers turning their fashion houses into corporate empires, Michael Kors seems to be hopping on the band wagon. A press release said, “The company could sell a stake of about 25 percent in the coming months in what would be one of the fashion industry’s largest deals of recent years.”

If Michael Kors sold a 25 percent stake of his company for $500 million, it would boost his net revenue to $2 billion, which is twice the company’s annual revenue. If this works out like Michael Kors and his team of brains planned it will, Kors would be valued higher than Italian fashion giant Prada, which went public this month on the Hong Kong stock exchange. “I think you could argue that Michael Kors deserves a richer valuation because they’ve got a lot more room to grow in places like Europe and Asia,” Robert Burke, president of Robert Burke Associates, a consulting firm to the luxury industry.

The chic and stylish Lady Gaga has changed up her look once again. It’s is not surprising that Lady Gaga changed her look to stay fresh and edgy, if anything, it is to be expected. Having sported an aquamarine wig for the past few weeks, fashion icon Lady Gaga decided to go back to her trademark platinum blond look. Lady Gaga was performing at the MTV Video Music Aid Japan at the Makuhari Messe Arena near Tokyo when the the photos below were taken.

Lady Gaga’s hair was not only back to being blond, but it was also braided and put into two buns on her head, with her fringe cut short on her forehead. When her act began, Lady Gaga had aquamarine extensions in which seemed to be intertwined into a spider-web like backdrop on stage. As she got more into the first song, Lady Gaga quickly removed herself from the web, and removed the extensions. What are your thoughts on Lady Gaga’s new hairstyle?

Disney pop star and singer Justin Bieber was at the center of a chaotic scuffle that broke out in New York City. Right outside of the famous New York City Macy’s Department store, when Justin Bieber went to go greet his adoring fans outside, they broke through the barricade and cause a huge scene and scuffle. Justin Bieber was at the Macy’s store for a promotional event for his new fragrance called “Someday”. Bieber’s PR person had to do some immediate damage control after the little scuffle.

Justin Bieber’s publicist said in an email, “This was a momentary, well-intentioned misunderstanding that was quickly resolved, and the event went very well.” When the scuffle did break out, police officers and Bieber’s personal security detail quickly surrounded him and whisked him away before any sort of harm could befall the young singer. According to the NYPD, Beiber’s reps contacted them because he wanted to go outside to greet fans so they set up small pen where he could do so.

Singer and Fashion Icon Lady Gaga recently discussed the possibility of starting her own fashion line. I think this is some pretty exciting news seeing as how radical and different Lady Gaga’s fashion taste is. The recent recipient of the CFDA Award for being a “Fashion Icon”, Gaga said at the press room at the MuchMusic Awards, which she opened and closed, “I really, really have such admiration for fashion designers and I’m such good friends with them.”

Lady Gaga went on to say, “I’d love to have a fashion line when I stop making music for a while, for a year. But that’s not going to happen soon. I’m in love with songwriting right now.” So I would not be holding your breath for anything to be released soon. What do you think of the idea of Lady Gaga releasing her own fashion line? I am curious as to what the collection would actually consist of. Would it be all meat dresses and metal spheres that surround the body? Time will tell what Lady Gaga’s fashion line will be like.

Gucci’s new 2012 Menswear line is incredibly delightful and refreshing for the upcoming fashion season. Gucci unveiled their new colltection at fashion week in Milan were it received quite positive feedback. I have to say, I am personally fairly impressed by what the brands collection looks like. All of the clothes seem to carry with them this sense of elegance and sophistication and will make anyone that wears them, looks quite distinguished.

Frida Giannini, the Gucci designer, said backstage on Monday before her spring 2012 show, where she go the inspiration for this collection. “I was thinking about Michael Caine of the ’60s, the unconventional, relaxed Michael Caine of ‘Alfie,’ the way he wore his suits with an open shirt.’’ For those of you not familiar with the movie, she nailed it, perfectly. Fashion designer Marc Jacobs who has recently done some exquisite work for Louis Vuitton received the Lifetime Achievement award from the Council Of Fashion Designers Of America (CFDA). Sofia Coppola presented Marc Jacobs with the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award. Marc Jacobs is one of the youngest people to ever receive the prestigious award, at the young age of 48 years old. Not many can say they have done as much as Jacobs has in the time he’s done it.

Michael Kors commented on Marc Jacobs award saying, “I’m thrilled for Marc. We’ve known each other our whole lives and no one has more talent, has worked harder, seen it all and, you know, last year it was me, this year it’s him. I feel like we’re all coming of age. I think it’s amazing. It’s only the beginning.” In his speech, Marc Jacobs said, “While it is wonderful to be recognized and receive this acknowledgment of our past triumphs, I believe we all know and feel that the greatest reward is the process itself, the doing, the giving, the growing and the sharing it all with others. This statue may serve as a great reminder of where we’ve been, but it is here in my heart that I look forward to where we have still to go and what we will get to achieve together.”

Super celebrity Kanye West, who is known for his over the top fashion, speaking his mind and his music, is reportedly starting his own fashion line. Currently, Kanye West has a limited run scar selection available, but what he is working on now is a full on fashion line. Kanye is working on his new line in a studio in Paris, where one could speculate the superstar will be studying many of the world renowned fashion designers housed in the famous city.

Kanye West has attempted clothing design before with his Pastelle line eventually folding before even releasing anything to the public in 2009 after much fanfare. Kanye told Elle magazine that same year, “Did you not see the Lindsay Lohan and Ungaro collection? That was 911 for celebrities doing fashion. After that I thought ‘Well I can’t do a line now’. Prior to this, Kanye also worked for Louis Vuitton in developing a line of casual footwear for the company’s 2009 spring/summer lineup. I am quite curious to see what will come of Kanye’s Paris inspired fashion line.

The Olsen twins were spotted visiting a gallery in New York City on Wednesday, June 1. Joined by a friend, Mary Kate and Ashley headed to Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood to check out the displays at a Matt Groening exhibition. Meanwhile, the former “Full House” gals recently announced that they will not be using their own faces to promote their fashion line, The Row, to avoid it being branded as a celebrity fashion line.

Mary-Kate went into further detail with their decision , “We were aware of [the growing trend of] celebrity brands. We were trying to get away from that because we’d already done it with Wal-Mart, and we did it well. We’d been there, we’d done that.” I like how they are taking the initiative to spear head their fashion line. I think ‘The Row’ is fairly promising at this point and holds a lot of potential and could really big on of the next big names in fashion.
