Cynthia Steffe took "back to school" to a whole new level with her Fall 2006 collection. Boarding school beauties took to the runway in pleated shorts and plush cardigans. Never has a play on preppy uniform dress looked so good. Slender cinched empire waist belts finished the look. Even the lace details gave a baroque edge against the competition. Soft wavy hair on the models complemented the flirtatious schoolgirl jumpers shown in a plethora of color combinations including the uber trendy violet blue. Ms. Steffe, a master of girly romance, experimented with more masculine materials like flannel and plaid to great results. In the end it was the cadet military jacket that went straight to the head of the class.
