Heatherette Goes Big for "Gothamism" - By: Katie Parfet, Style Editor The wonder boys of Heatherette have quite a loyal following. The original club kids attracted a new generation of colorful characters to Bryant Park for their self titled "Gothamism" production. Ten minutes to showtime, the lobby seemed to transform into a Studio 54esk scene with socialites rubbing elbows with punk teens. Inside the tent, the stage was painted straight out of the Tom Hank's classic film Big, complete with music note wallpaper and a larger-than-life keyboard lining the runway, This season's looks celebrated everything New York, especially its' budding scensters like Tinsley Mortimer clad in a "Rainbow Brite on acid" number and the designers' muse Lidia Hearst, dressed in a low cut spandexy blouse and mermaid skirt. (Hopefully she scored it for her after party at Happy Valley.) Details like the side tied headband and Big Apple emblem chain were exceptionally playful and Big hits. While most of the collection was costume oriented, (a full Indian headdress complete with bow and arrows!) there were a few ideas to try at Home, Bungalow 8, Marquee, or..well you get the point. The designers dress for their most comfortable environment, the club. The guys strutted in white tailored suit jackets revealing youthful toned six packs. The girls had fun too working feathery bustiers and sassy striped cardigans. Just when we thought it'd be time to venture from Midtown to Gotham's nightlife, Naomi Campbell herself sashayed down the keyboard catwalk in a fabulously feathered cocktail frock to a cat calling standing ovation. Proof that Big dreams do come true in New York!
