Reality TV star and celebrity busy body Kim Kardashian recently did a fashion shoot which is sure to catch your eye. The 30-year-old Kim Kardashian slipped into a star-covered sequined frock for a photo shoot for The Middle East magazine which took place in Malibu on Wednesday. I am surprised Kim was able to take time out of her busy schedule to do the photo shoot since she has been consumed with planning her upcoming wedding to Kris Humphries.

Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian’s wedding invitations have been finalized and sent out. The stylish invitation reads as follows; ‘Kris and Bruce Jenner request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of their daughter/ Kimberly Kardashian / To Kristopher Humphries. Saturday, the twentieth of August/ Two thousand and eleven/ Montecito, California/ Black Tie.’ The wedding date is not far away at all and before you know it, Kim Kardashian will be tying the knot.

Kim Kardashian Dressed Conservatively

We saw Kim Kardashian in a different light then we usual do as she stepped on in some casual wear. The almost always dressed to the nines reality star seemed to be dressed a little bit down as she walked through the airport, carrying her own bags, which is somewhat surprising. One of the more surprising things for me is that Kim Kardashian wore flats, considering that she has a slew of high heels that would make any woman on the planet jealous. I guess comfort beat out style.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star still looked elegant in a summery play suit and softer make-up than usual, the socialite was more Primark than Prada. Kim Kardashian was also very toned back and conservative in her look with almost no bling what so ever. The only real overt piece of designer branding she had was a suitcase by Louis Vuitton. It is actually somewhat refreshing to see a celebrity like Kardashian have day wear, or run around clothes.

The Kardashians seems to have had a good holiday weekend when they celebrated the 4th. Even though Keeping Up With the Kardashians isn’t on right now, we are still keeping up with them via Twitter. Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian tweeted all of their July 4th weekend happenings. Kim Kardashian was in Minnesota and tweeted “There’s nothing more that I love to do than sleep!,” and afterwards she spent some time on the big island in Lake Minnetonka, Minnesota. “Its like Vegas on the lake over here!,” she wrote on Sunday.

Kourtney Kardashian on the other hand was out in Las Vegas celebrating the 4th, and polling her twitter followers as to what she should wear. Kourtney needed help choosing between a black Robert Rodriguez dress and a bone-colored design by Alice and Olivia, and eventually Kourtney Kardashian chose the Alice and Olivia dress and tweeted a pic of it. Khloe was tweeting, “Been up super early going to the grocery store because I’m having a pre 4th of July BBQ!,” and, “Tomorrow its at my moms :) Today is swim day!…I love days like today…. Cooking, swimming, family. I love it! Tomorrow will be even more fun! BBQ at my mamas :)

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian and NBA player Kris Humphries wedding is getting closer and closer. Knowing how Kim Kardashian is, and seeing her fashion tastes on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, one can only expect an incredibly extravagant and lush mega-wedding from the engaged couple. The $2 million dollar ring that Kris Humphries gave to Kim as an engagement ring already speaks volumes as to what we should be expecting.

With that said, it is no surprise that Kim Kardashian, the bride to be, was spotted at designer Vera Wang’s Madison Avenue boutique recently. Kim Kardashian, who was dressed in a leopard print one piece, and was joined by her sister Khloe, and their reality tv camera crew. Vera Wang has been a family friend of the Kardashian family, and designed the dress that younger sister Khloe wore when she married Los Angeles Laker Lamar Odom in November 2009.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries Filming For Keeping Up With the Kardashians

Kim Kardashian’s engagement with Kris Humphries immediately drew a lot of attention, and continues to do so. Kim Kardashian attracted even more attention when she stopped by Geary’s luxurious gifting registry in Beverly Hills and racked up an impressive wish list of items priced well over 5,000 dollars. It sounds like you need to have some pretty deep pockets to attend this wedding. I feel like bringing a toaster as a gift for Kim and Kris would be frowned upon.

When the fashionable celebrity Kim Kardashian went on her little adventure, she brought along with her a camera crew. An anonymous worker in the store said, “They were very respectful, and very nice but also aware of the show’s cameras and playing to them as well. They were making a TV show, so some stuff seemed staged.” Apparently Kris Humphries is now already roped into filming as well for “Keeping Up With the Kardashians”.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week saw another outstanding season, as once again the iconic runways of Bryant Park hosted some of the world’s most talented designers.  The Tents featured esteemed veteran designers such as Diane Von Furstenberg, Michael Kors, Isaac Mizrahi, Tommy Hilfiger, Anna Sui, Carolina Herrera and Max Azria. Several of the season’s hottest designers like Tory Burch, Doo. Ri and Erin Wasson x RVCA displayed their talent on this global fashion platform alongside Nanette Lepore, Tracy Reese, Custo Barcelona, Nicole Miller, Charlotte Ronson and Phillip Lim.

The global media once again was focused on the business of fashion as well as on reporting on the newest designs and upcoming trends. “The designers worked long and hard to create collections to inspire their customers to once again go shopping,” said Fern Mallis, Senior Vice-President of IMG Fashion, which owns and operates the event.  And this season, our graphic theme of luggage had several subliminal meanings – from the greatest trunk show in fashion to paying homage to all the industry professionals from around the world who packed their bags and traveled to New York to attend Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week – and to also remind everyone it will soon be time to pack up our tents and move to Lincoln Center.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week runway shows continue to be one of most desirable invitations to have during fashion week,” said Lisa Holladay, Brand Experience Marketing Manager at Mercedes-Benz USA.  “Design and fashion are core to the Mercedes-Benz brand so it’s our DNA to create activities that help generate excitement and energy around each season.”

Complementing the runway collections, this season, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week presented a Spring 2010 Accessories Exhibition. It featured collections of handbags, jewelry, watches and more. Each display featured a selection from participating designers such as Alex Soldier, Ambrosi Abrianna, Bindya NY, Carlos Falchi, Isharya,  Judith Ripka, Lisa Kornman, Lulu Frost, Mercedes-Benz Collection, Sharon Van Liempt, Subversive Jewelry and accessories from W Hotels The Store.

Mercedes-Benz affirmed its commitment to excellence in design through Narciso Rodriguez, this season’s Mercedes-Benz Presents designer and a fashion retrospective that was curated by Rodriguez and Dayle Haddon, long-time model and UNICEF Ambassador.   Backstage, the Mercedes-Benz Star lounge created by Maurice Villency was inspired by Bryant Park in the fall, convertible vehicles, and it was the “spot” for celebrity, designer and customer guests looking to network and slow down the pace.   Displayed in the main lobby throughout fashion week for attendees to experience was the new 2010 E Class Coupe and E 63 AMG sedan, this season’s stars from Mercedes-Benz current collection of vehicles.

American Express® proudly returned to the Tents this season, to connect Cardmembers with many of their favorite designers and took them even deeper into the world of fashion. As one of the only opportunities for consumers to experience the excitement at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Platinum Card® and Gold Cardmembers were given an up-close view of runway shows from the Jonathan Adler-designed American Express® Skybox, where designers and industry influencers mingled with Cardmembers and Skybox Host Kate Nobelius to share their personal fashion insights and unique industry perspectives. American Express® partnered with acclaimed fashion designer Phillip Lim this season to present a unique runway experience exclusively for card members on Thursday, September 17, 2009.  The evening featured insights from Lim, and hosts André Leon Talley and Linda Fargo into 3.1 phillip lim looks currently available at retail, followed by an encore presentation of the 3.1 phillip lim Spring/Summer 2010 collection that debuted to press and industry guests the previous day. As a true supporter of the industry, American Express® donated proceeds from the sale of event packages as part of its $250,000 donation to the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, a CFDA program to help emerging American designers succeed in the business of fashion by providing ongoing support.

TRESemmé returned for its third season as the Official Hair Care Sponsor of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.  TRESemmé proudly sponsored and created hair looks for the Tracy Reese, Whitney Eve, Mara Hoffman, Nicholas K. and Brian Reyes shows. Also, this season, TRESemmé partnered with Conde Nast for an exciting new “Steal the Show” campaign with Rachel Bilson, giving readers the inside scoop on hair-to-toe trends, which debuts in November. Rachel Bilson was LIVE on Tuesday, September 15th before the Brian Reyes show at the TRESemmé Hair Salon and Lounge. One Natural Experience (O.N.E.), offered water in Tetra Pak cartons to all guests frequenting the shows, backstage and throughout the Tents. This sponsorship marks the first time that carton water was featured as an official water sponsor.  O.N.E. is dedicated to the belief that access to clean water is a fundamental human right and therefore donates 100% of the profits from O.N.E Water (after operating expenses) to non-profit organizations, selecting 10-15 non-profits annually to receive funds from the sales. Tetra Pak, www.tetrapakusa.com, the company behind this modern sustainable alternative packaging, utilized by numerous brands for a variety of food products, will also made their debut at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, and facilitated on-site recycling.

Lauren Conrad tricked us into believing that she was finished with reality television and going on hiatus from her fashion career, but she isn’t. She is killing two birds with one stone by being a guest judge on “America’s Next Top Model.” Not only will LC being judging a show, but Kim Kardashian will be as well.

LC said that if she did return to reality TV, she’d want to do it in a hosting capacity. “I wouldn’t do a show like ‘The Hills,’ ” she said in June. “Nothing with my personal life, but possibly something hosting. I think I have a little bit of time to figure out what I’m going to do next.”

Now that she is back in the reality tv game will we be seeing her on the upcoming season of “The Hills”? “I’m not planning on it,” she said. “I’m happy with the time I walked away, and I think that from now on, they’re going to pick it up and do a great show. But I think that my time on it is done.”

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week enjoyed a stellar season, as the runways of Bryant Park once again featured talented designers from all parts of the globe.  The Tents hosted plenty of veteran designers such as Diane Von Furstenberg, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Anna Sui, Zac Posen, Carolina Herrera and Max Azria (for three shows), brought their classic elegance and focused designs to the fashion industry throngs. Several of the season’s newcomers, like William Rast (with Justin Timberlake & Trace Ayala in tow), Mackage, Adam and ThisDay/ARISE African Fashion Collective also received their chance to display their talent on the global fashion stage. They, along with others from Nanette Lepore, Tracy Reese and Dennis Basso showed their collections to great praise from the world’s press in Bryant Park. Highlighting the fashion parade were 50 fabulous looks from 50 designers to celebrate Barbie®’s 50th anniversary.

lounge was the hub of the beauty editor world, providing a quiet place to do interviews or speak to the fashion world through their metv video booth.  Here, editors, designers and fashion’s elite video taped themselves with their messages which were uploaded to style.com.  After 24 hours, the videos were uploaded M?A?C Cosmetics’ youtube site and distributed to industry bloggers.

Several signature cocktails and beverages served throughout the week included Peroni, Martini Gold Chocolate and Martini Gold Lemon Drop as well as Martini Gold Signature Cocktails – the Raspberry Truffle-tini and the Passionista, Coca-Cola and refreshing SmartWater. Coca-Cola and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week joined together to create a recycling program for the Event to make the Tents “green”.  Co-branded recycling bins could be found everywhere and multiple daily pickups were made for recyclable materials including glass, plastic, aluminum and cardboard.
