Fashion Designer Marc Jacobs has done another pretty out there ad campaign for his new collection. Marc Jacobs has done some out there campaigns before which included having Victoria Beckham pose in nothing but a carrier bag, and also Helena Bonham Carter rocking some measels. But Marc Jacobs latest campaign has taken the cake, and apparently all of the clothes as well. Almost all of the pictures leave little to nothing to the imagination.

The series of ads for Marc Jacobs latest collection, shot by renowned fashion photographer Juergen Teller, show a 53-year-old artist Cerith Wyn Evans leaping around a yard with nothing but a bunch of balloons protecting his modesty. In the less revealing shots from the series, Mr Evans stands with his back to the lens, the colourful balloons obscuring all but a glimpse of his bare bottom. Only a few things from the collection are featured such a leather bag, riding boots and a tuxedo suit being modelled by Mr Evans.

Fashion designer Marc Jacobs who has recently done some exquisite work for Louis Vuitton received the Lifetime Achievement award from the Council Of Fashion Designers Of America (CFDA). Sofia Coppola presented Marc Jacobs with the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award. Marc Jacobs is one of the youngest people to ever receive the prestigious award, at the young age of 48 years old. Not many can say they have done as much as Jacobs has in the time he’s done it.

Michael Kors commented on Marc Jacobs award saying, “I’m thrilled for Marc. We’ve known each other our whole lives and no one has more talent, has worked harder, seen it all and, you know, last year it was me, this year it’s him. I feel like we’re all coming of age. I think it’s amazing. It’s only the beginning.” In his speech, Marc Jacobs said, “While it is wonderful to be recognized and receive this acknowledgment of our past triumphs, I believe we all know and feel that the greatest reward is the process itself, the doing, the giving, the growing and the sharing it all with others. This statue may serve as a great reminder of where we’ve been, but it is here in my heart that I look forward to where we have still to go and what we will get to achieve together.”

One of the largest and most recognized brands in fashion, Louis Vuitton, has revealed in Women’s Wear Daily ten days ago, Louis Vuitton’s autumn–winter 2011–12 campaign. The campaign features models Zuzanna Bijoch, Daphne Groeneveld, Gertrud Hegelund, Nyasha Matonhodze, Anaïs Pouliot and Fei Fei Sun. Louis Vuitton has sent a little more behind-the-scenes info on the campaign, with nine images photographed by Steven Meisel.

‘For fall–winter 2011–12,’ says Louis Vuitton artistic director Marc Jacobs, ‘Steven Meisel and I met and decided we would do this wonderful story of beautiful vintage cars, little dogs and fresh-faced young women. It’s a very classic scenario, and of course it suggests travel, but I think we gave it a fresh, modern and sometimes a little bit naughty, tongue-in-cheek spin.’ The campaign involved the six models, ?ve vintage cars and their chauffeurs, and fourteen pedigree dogs, shot at a disused aerodrome in Brooklyn, New York. I have to say, I think the 2011-2012 line up looks really promising and I can not wait for it to be released.

I love Marc Jacobs clothing and accessories just as much as the next person, and would do almost anything for it, expect steal it. Some people however have no problem with this. For the third time in just over two months, Marc Jacobs has seen his Los Angeles store attacked by some low level thieves. The most recent incident took place on October 3. Two previous burglaries happened in late July and August. According to news reports, burglars have “smashed” the front window of the high-end fashion store on the posh 8400 block of Melrose Avenue in the early morning, “grabbed” expensive merchandise(yeah, like any of his stuff is cheap), and then quickly fled the scene.

The Beverly Press reports that there have been a “rash” of smash and grab burglaries in the swanky neighborhood where Marc Jacobs‘ store is located.

According to the newspaper, someone threw a cinder block through the Marc Jacobs display window in early October, but this time they were unable to steal any merchandise. Hopefully they will catch the thieves and things can return to normal for Marc Jacobs and his stores.

Great Success Of The Spanish Designer Toni Francesc In New York

The Bryant Park, official venue for the staging of the fashion shows that form part of MERCEDES- BENZ FASHION WEEK” was the scenery for the premiére in New York of the Catalonian designer Toni Francesc, who closed the fashion shows program for the 15th September, receiving warm applauses from the nearly 500 people who attended his show.

Under the title “Water’s Mood”, Toni Francesc´s collection  for Spring-Summer 2010, offered an homage to the water in all its variants. A video installation in which several images of water could be seen – waves, currents and multiple sorts of water drops- gave the front scenery to the presentation of the collection, in which dominated a chromatic palette of blue tonalities, mixed with mauve shades. Besides that, khaki and sand tones, inspired in lakes and puddles, together with whites and grays, based in the color less quality of water. Drapes and pleatings worked on sheer materials like silk, showed an involving and sophisticated silhouette. In contrast to the soft textiles, the stiff materials, such as cotton, presented clean and very depured cuts, defining the feminine body though several details and a very depured pattern work. An original, sober and risky collection that received the applause of the public.

The Direction of the “MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK” has included, at this edition in September 2009, 5 Spanish designers in its official fashion shows program. Besides Custo Dalmau and Miguel Adrover -who already are veterans at this catwalk-, three new Spanish designers have been chosen to show their creations for the first time at the shows in New York: Toni Francesc, Joaquín Trías and David Delfín –who already showed his collections in New York, but not yet in the official shows calendar-.

This event -which origins date back to the first “Fashion Press Days”, organized in the Big Apple back in 1943- is one of the most prestigious events of its kind in the world, habitually featuring the participation of many great figures within the world of fashion design, such as Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren, Carolina Herrera, Donna Karan, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Narciso Rodriguez, Hervé Ledger and many other designers well known around the world.

Toni Francesc, who took part at the fashion shows organized by CIBELES MADRID FASHION WEEK last February, is one of the Spanish designers showing a really strong participation at a number of international fashion shows. Special witness to this designer’s meteoric rise shows over the last two years. Although his collection was presented at the CYBERPOT CENTER in HONG KONG in January 2006, it is in Mexico where the designer has established his main international market, being a frequent participant at FASHION WEEK in MEXICO, where he has presented his designs each season since October 2006. Furthermore, the Catalan designer presented fashion parades in September 2008 and March 2009 at the most important fashion event in Russia, RUSSIAN FASHION WEEK in Moscow.

Together with all the international fashion shows at which Toni Francesc has presented his cutting-edge ideas, the presentation of his collection within the official program at “MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK” in New York is undoubtedly a considerable success for the Catalan designer, as well as for the world of Spanish fashion design in general.
